Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

SextMe is designed with privacy in mind. We do not require registration, an email address, or any personal information to use our service. Information we may collect includes:

• Browser type and version
• Device information
• IP address (for abuse prevention and to route your connection)
• The gender, age, and chat preferences you select before starting a chat
• The country your connection appears to originate from
• Usage data and analytics

2. Camera and Microphone Access

When you start a chat on SextMe, your browser asks permission to use your camera and microphone. If you grant it, your video and audio are sent live to the person you are matched with, for the duration of that chat only.

We do not record video or audio of your chats. To detect and prevent child sexual abuse material, we may automatically take occasional still images from your own camera while you use the video chat. Only our moderators can see them, and they are deleted after 24 hours, unless they are needed as evidence of illegal content, in which case we keep them and may report them to the authorities. When you press Stop or Next, or close the page, the connection is torn down immediately and your camera stops being transmitted.

3. How Video Chats Are Connected

Chats on this site are peer-to-peer: wherever possible your video and audio travel directly between your device and your chat partner's device, and do not pass through our servers at all. Your streams are always encrypted in transit.

Some networks — mobile networks in particular — do not allow a direct connection. In that case the call is routed through a relay server (Cloudflare Realtime TURN) so that it can still connect. Your video and audio remain encrypted end-to-end while relayed: neither we nor Cloudflare can view or listen to the contents of your chat.

4. What Your Chat Partner Can See

Please read this section carefully before using the chat. When you are matched with someone, they are shown the gender and age you selected and the country your connection appears to come from. They are not told which of our websites you came from, and we never show them your email or any account details, because we do not collect any.

Two things are inherent to live video chat and we want you to understand them. First, because a peer-to-peer connection is direct, your IP address can be visible to the person you are connected to, and theirs to you; when the call is relayed instead, your IP address is hidden from them. Second, anyone you chat with can record or screenshot what they see using software on their own device. We cannot detect or prevent this. Please do not show or say anything you would not want recorded.

5. Matching and Text Chat

To pair you with someone, your browser opens a connection to our matching service and sends the gender, age, and preferences you chose. This information is held in memory only, for as long as you stay connected, and is discarded when you close the page. We do not keep a database of users, sessions, or matches.

Text messages you send during a chat travel directly to your chat partner over the same peer connection as the video. They are not sent to our servers, are not logged, and are erased from your browser when the chat ends.

Chat again and friends: when you and your chat partner both like a chat and choose Chat again, we keep for 7 days that your two browsers (or accounts) may be offered to each other, with each side's country and age as the other is shown them. With an account, your friends see when you are online (you can turn this off), the time of day you usually chat, and can wave at you or plan a chat with you. If you turn on notifications, we keep your browser's notification subscription to send them; when a notification cannot reach you, we may send at most one email a day to your verified address, which you can turn off in your friends list. Waves are deleted after 30 days, plans 90 days after their time, and all of it when you delete your account.

6. Information Stored in Your Browser

SextMe stores two things locally on your device: your confirmation that you are 18 or older, and the gender, age and chat preference you last selected, so the form is already filled in on your next visit and you do not have to choose again. Both stay on your device until you clear your browser's site data, which removes them.

To enforce bans, your browser also keeps a random ID, in its storage and in a cookie on this site. When you start a chat, it also sends a few plain facts about your device: the screen size, the graphics chip, the number of processor cores, the time zone, the languages and, where the browser shares it, the phone model. We keep only a fingerprint of them (a hash calculated with a secret key), never the facts themselves. When someone is banned, the fingerprints of their device are kept for a week, and a new account or browser on a device with the same fingerprint may have to wait for a moderator before it can chat. The fingerprints your browser used are deleted after 30 days.

7. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with SextMe. You can opt out of analytics tracking by using browser privacy settings or extensions.

8. Third-Party Services

SextMe shows a clearly labelled sponsored link to a third-party cam platform while you are waiting for a match and after a chat ends. Nothing from that platform is embedded in this site, and no data is shared with them unless you click the link, which opens their site in a new tab. Those platforms have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

9. Data Retention

We retain minimal data and only for as long as necessary to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. We never record the video, audio or text messages of your chats; the occasional still images described in section 2 are deleted after 24 hours unless they are needed as evidence.

10. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect the information we collect. All connections to SextMe are encrypted via HTTPS, and all video, audio, and text exchanged in a chat is encrypted in transit.

11. Age Restriction

SextMe is strictly for adults aged 18 or over. You are asked to confirm your age before entering the chat. If we become aware that a minor is using the service, we will terminate that access.

12. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we may hold. Since we collect minimal data and do not require accounts, most users have no stored personal information.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

14. Contact
